LaTeX template for the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Individual Fellowships application (H2020-MSCA-IF-2014)

I've created  a LaTeX template for the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Individual Fellowships application (H2020-MSCA-IF-2014). It's based on a version that I found online for the previous call; I've tried to update it for the 2014 call. I made this because I couldn't stand the idea of using the provided Word template (especially because of references). Hopefully it fits within the prescribed guidelines, but I cannot guarantee that. Pull requests to improve the template are welcome!

Edit: template has now been updated to the 2017 call by thevorpalblade.

  1. Well done, thanks for your hard work. I can't find the official Word template though, could you please include the link? (to compare with what I generated in Latex)

  2. Hi José !

Thank you a lot for your template.

But something is wrong with the "ganttchart".
I cannot compile the.tex file without Errors:
    %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
Package pgfkeys Error: I do not know the key '/pgfgantt/bar progress label fo
nt' and I am going to ignore it. Perhaps you misspelled it.
    %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
I tried to fix it but did not manage.
It looks also different from the Word's version.

  3. Hi José!

Thank you a lot for your template!

But I have a problem with "ganttchart".
I cannot compile the .tex file without the Error:
    %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
Package pgfkeys Error: I do not know the key '/pgfgantt/bar progress label fo
nt' and I am going to ignore it. Perhaps you misspelled it.
    %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%

I tried to fix the problem but did not manage.
After faulty compilation the Gantt Chart in .pdf looks also different compared to Word's version.

  4. Hello Marika,

Strange, it works here. Could it be that you have an old version of the package?

  5. Thanks! (Sorry for not replying earlier) Have you figured out what to do about the references, that should be in footnotes? In my field (maths) we always put them at the end....

  6. In my field too, but this template should place \cite commands in footnotes.

  7. Ah cool, cheers! I actually changed it to \renewcommand{\cite}{\textcite}, matches my style of writing and still puts the references in footnotes. Thanks again for your work!

  8. Wow, thanks a lot! Just one question: why have you shortened the space after sections/subsections?

    ReplyDelete
  9. Because I (personally) need all the space I can get! :-)

  10. Hi, thank you for doing this. Do you know where could we find the guidelines?

  11. This year's guidelines are here: https://ec.europa.eu/research/participants/portal4/desktop/en/opportunities/h2020/calls/h2020-msca-if-2015.html#tab2

  12. Hi, thanks,
but the ganttchart object does not work!
    Here is the error:

! Package pgfkeys Error: I do not know the key '/pgfgantt/bar progress label fo
nt' and I am going to ignore it. Perhaps you misspelled it.

  13. Hey Nicola, I haven't seen that error before. Are you using an up-to-date LaTeX installation?

  16. Hi Sara, it works for me with MiKTeX-pdfTeX 2.9.4535 (1.40.13) (MiKTeX 2.9).

  17. This was really useful! I've updated it for this September's call (and enlarged the Gantt chart for GF) http://cr.math.sci.osaka-u.ac.jp/~l.speyer/MC16temp.tex

    1. Great! If you'd like you can submit a pull request on GitHub.

    2. I don't use GItHub, but I'm happy for you to do so with the file on my webpage which I linked to.

Also note that this year they've split the application into two documents, so the file is just for document 1, and I commented out the end page. For document 2, I've now put it up here: http://cr.math.sci.osaka-u.ac.jp/~l.speyer/MC16temp2.tex. Again, please feel free to use both of these any way you like, including a pull request on GitHub.

    4. Hello guys, I am facing a problem with that given code. Do you get section number in document 1 ? :(

  18. Thanks José and Liron. Where can I get the final template that can be used for September call (2016). The one in the github repo seems to be an old version.

  19. I meant the Latex template. I looked at the version in the github and it seems to be according to the official template. Will be using it. Thanks
